  • Welcome to the 2008 Tracking Season

The conditions for our first event of the year were quite difficult, very warm and dry - not good tracking weather at all. Please let it rain soon!! Wishing you all great success for this season.

Congratulations to TCh Goorambat Belle Starr and her owner David Cunningham on being awarded the Tracking Dog of the Year for 2007.

Avalon gained a total of 20 points to take out this year's trophy.

Congratulations to all the members and their dogs who gained titles, there were 136 medallions presented at our AGM /Presentation night. Well done everyone.

Champion of Champions Tracking Event 2007

Our 3rd Annual Champion of Champions Tracking Event for members was held on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July 2007 at Shepparton with an entry of 20 dogs & handlers. Thanks to our great judges, Helen den Hartog and our overseas import (Tassie) Peter Hofto for the work in setting up on Thursday & Friday and for the spirit in which the competition was judged. Well done Deb Hamilton, steward & "flight attendant" extraordinaire. Sarah Trembath & Tony Wileman with assistance from Lynn Klecka did a great job in coordinating tracklayers, decoys , crossovers and handlers ensuring the smooth running of the weekend.

We were all well fed again due to the culinary skills of Mr Tony den Hartog (alias Chuckles the Clown). Saturday nights spit roast prepared by Gary Fainges was once again well received.

This years winning team was Kim Houlden & TCh Fernamber Tradition CCD (Tully) gaining a total of 190 points. Runner Up was Trish Wileman & Dual Ch (T) Kismaner Ragsto Riches CCD ET (Richa) on a score of 187.

Saturday evenings entertainment included a doggy trivia competition, rounds of which were interspersed with a mystery auction which proved to be a great fundraiser, it was amazing to see the spirited bidding at times. Overall the evening was a great success with fun had by all who took part. Can't quite remember who started the food fight!

In attendance over the weekend were Rick & Judy from PAWSonally Yours who took photos of the dogs & turned them into mouse pads, calendars & doggy feed mats.

Sunday saw the now annual dog show , with best dressed dog/handler, smartest dog, best trick etc. This was incredibly entertaining and many people went to great lengths to get into the spirit of the occasion as you will see in the following photos and in our photo gallery.

Once again a huge thank you to Trish and her great team, the raffle as usual provided fantastic prizes and Jill managed to sell off all the excess food - nothing gets wasted when she takes control! Planning has already commenced for next years event so be prepared for another great weekend in 2008.
