Welcome to the first issue of Track On for 2010 - the Committee of the T.C.V. (Inc) wish all members' every success with their trialling during what we hope is a wet session.
The calendar is once again full with tracking trials at all our favourite venues and additional T.S.D. events at Gippsland and suburbs around Melbourne. We wish Gippsland all the best for the first T.S.D. Urban trial in Victoria and hope the concrete is cool for all teams hoping for that next title. It is great to see so many teams embracing this style of tracking however the Gippsland judges are very tough so which out for those round-abouts and speed humps.
Our annual tracking workshop at Shepparton is scheduled for the 16-18th of April, 2010 at Moira Scout camp, Shepparton. We anticipate strong interest for this weekend - both for the instruction given and the high quality of food prepared by Tony den Hartog and his wonderful helpers. Catering for this event has always been a big expense and our small increase in the cost of attending this event is due to the high standard of food and an increase in site fees by D.S.E. Thanks also to the T.C.V. Committee and members for their time, expertise and 'war' stories that make this such a fantastic event.
Our first event is a T.S.D. trial on 24-26th of April, 2010 and then a Test One (1) trial at K.C.C. Park on the 1-2 of
May, 2010.
It will be great to see Rob TESTER in judging mode amongst Jerry's cows in Cranbourne - you are all in for a 'treat'
As with all of our events, if you are to come along and offer assistance as a track layer / goffer or cross-over, please speak with Andrea who will gladly give you all the information.
Just a reminder of the new Trial Application Forms on the V.C.A. website - they are easier to fill out and so much better for our great trial Secretaries.
Looking forward to seeing you in a wet paddock or bush.

Congratulations to TCh Linwest What Goes Around and Helen den Hartog on becoming the Tracking Dog of the Year for 2009. Gypsy gained a total of 23 points to take out this year's trophy.
The inaugural Track & Search Dog of the Year was won by Dual Ch (T) Goldenhart Honeybear CCD ET TSD and Helen den Hartog, Coco gained 13 points.
There was fierce competition in both disciplines and the scores of the leading dogs were tied and countbacks were required. The top five dogs were only separated by 2 points for TDOY & 3 points for TSDDOY.
Well done to Helen & her two girls, Coco and Gypsy, on a fantastic season.
Did your dog achieve it's Tracking Champion title this year? We are showing photos of all Tracking Champions on this web site so please e-mail a digital photo to the web master for inclusion on the web site. Please send as a jpeg file.
*As far as we can tell, if you are the first, let us know and we will link to you
