Hello
Everyone,
The
Tracking Club of Victoria continues to grow and flourish with
the membership as of today being 248 which once again is an
increase on this time last year.
Our
members have had a super successful year with 158 tracking
title and 33 track and search dog title medallions to be
presented following this meeting tonight.
What
an amazing effort and I congratulate each and every one of you
on your achievements during 2009.
As
I say every year the membership of the Club continues to work
tirelessly in not only assisting in the running of our own
Club trials but also at many other tracking trials where ever
assistance is requested.
2009
saw the introduction of TSD Trials; the Club held two
additional trials in its calendar for these events, and as we
are now aware, the early tests in this discipline require many
helpers, so thank you to everyone who found the time and the
energy to be involved in assisting at these trials.
It
was wonderful to see all our Tracking Champion dogs out again
and having the time of their lives, their handlers also seemed
to enjoy the new tests as well.
During
2009 the Club held its now infamous Annual Workshop Weekend as
well as two Test 1 Trials, the Champion of Champions Event,
two Open Tracking Trials and two Track and Search Dog Trials.
None of these events would be possible without the commitment
from your hardworking Committee and the assistance of so many
members who are always so ready to help in making these events
a reality. My
sincere thanks to you all.
Tonight
we will be presenting service awards to three members for
their outstanding efforts during 2009, as a Club we are
extremely fortunate to have so many members willing to assist
whenever they are asked; therefore to be presented with a
service award recognises the member’s outstanding service
and commitment to our Club.
Other
awards to be presented tonight are the 2009 TCV Tracking Dog
of the Year, the 2009 Old Gold Cup, and this year sees the
introduction of the TCV Track & Search Dog of the Year.
I
would like to thank the members of the Committee for all their
efforts over the past twelve months; it has been a privilege
working with you all.
Tonight
sees the election of the TCV Committee for the coming year and
I am pleased to say that most of the current Committee has
chosen to renominate.
However
some Committee executive positions will be changing with Kim
Houlden deciding to remain on Committee but not in the
executive position of Treasurer whilst Helen den Hartog has
decided to have a break; Helen has been the Club Secretary for
the past six years, the cog that keeps the wheel
turning.................
I
sincerely thank Helen for all her work over the years and wish
her well for the future.
After
eighteen years on the Committee of the TCV; the first twelve
as Secretary and the last six as President I have also made
the decision to not re-nominate for the Committee for 2010.
I
would like to thank everyone who has assisted and supported me
during my time at the helm. It has been an honour and a
privilege to have been involved in the club since its
inception.
With
the Club in a good financial position and with a very healthy
membership base, I felt it was the right time to take a break
from the Committee side of the Club.
I
am still going to be around; as I am still passionate about my
tracking both as a competitor and as a judge, and I will look
forward to catching up with everyone at the trials next
year.
I
would like to welcome and congratulate the club members who
have and will be putting up their hands to join the TCV
Committee tonight.
I
wish the incoming Committee for 2010 every success for the
coming year.
Thank
you
Lynn
Klecka
